Hartnett-Holder and Co
Style: Stylish Country House Dining
Hartnett-Holder and Company is a brilliant collaboration between 2 excellent chefs – Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder. Set in a modernized Georgian Mansion, the bright and countryside elegant eatery offers Anglo-Italian fare. The restaurant interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki (who also designed Hix, Corrigan’s Mayfair, and Le Caprice in London) jive with the contemporary look of the David Collins designed Lime Wood Hotel that comes at a whopping 30 million pound tag price.
Resident chef Luke (formerly from Ornery, Oxo Tower, Sloane Club) and Michelin star chef Angela (of Murano, Petrus, and Aubergine fame) feature locally sourced ingredients in creating modern English cuisine and Italian inspired dishes like saffron and lobster seafood risotto, pork shoulder with roast taters and apple sauce, squid ink garganelli with parsley and crab, and grilled venison with apple and red cabbage slaw. The hotel has its own vaulted wine cellar housing numerous fine wines, a large central bar that also offers delishes cocktails so diners would be spoilt for drink choices.

Kuti’s Royal Thai Pier
Style: Elegant Waterfront Thai Cuisine in Southampton
Royal Thai Pier at the iconic 1930s Gate House Indian inspired building by the quay is a superb choice excellent and beautifully presented authentic Thai food. Diners are made to feel very welcome but the service is unobtrusive. The interiors are well designed and there are multiple huge private dining rooms that can accommodate up to 50, 70, and 120 people making it a good venue for weddings and corporate events. Al fresco dining at the terrace with waterfront views is great for summertime leisure lunches.
A la carte menu is offered for lunch and even suppertime but I would suggest going for the Fri/Sat evening or Sunday lunch buffet to be able to sample mouthwatering dishes like spicy roasted duck, phad cha, mixed seafood red curry, battered king prawns, stir fried lamb phad king, and other authentic Thai offerings that are fit for kings and queens. Apart from ala carte and buffet options, they also have a cocktail menu and modern Thai tapas menu for light eaters.

The Olive Tree in Southampton is a great lunch eatery and a bustling suppertime hotspot known for their daily changing seafood specialties and upscale Franco-Italian fare that has been enticing many locals and visitors for more than a decade. The lively atmosphere adds to the simple yet stylish charm and outdoor seating is available for sunny days.
The menu features seasonal locally sourced ingredients that are beautifully presented in French brasserie and Italian comfort food style dishes. Think grilled meats, pasta, charcuterie, seafood linguine, wild mushroom ravioli, antipasti choices from their own deli, petits fours, and the waft of daily fresh baked bread. The Pig Restaurant
Style: Enchanting Countryside Dining
New Forest ‘s Pig Hotel Restaurant in Brockenhurst, Hampshire hasn’t been around for very long but has already wowed many Costwolds locals and visitors. The Lime Wood Group owned property underwent a multi-million refurbishment and has successfully created an enchanting hotel with a fabulous restaurant that has a daily changing menu featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients (all within a 25 mile radius of the restaurant) and they even have a resident daily forager. It cannot get any fresher than that!
The fairy tale like interiors depict a Victorian greenhouse dining hall with iron wrought chairs, bare tabletops, Moorish tiles, chandelier, and lush greenery. Diners may also choose to dine al fresco during fine weather. Chef James Golding definitely knows his Pig and he has found ingenious ways of using almost all of its parts. Make sure to try the famous “Piggy Bits” starters which might tempt you to want to try everything on the menu. My suggestion is come with your friends so you can all share and try EVERYTHING. Expect other dishes like chorizo with foraged greens and herb butter, black pudding balls, cockles and pearl barley, and fried baby squid. Wash it all down with any of their cocktail concoctions served in Kilner jars or numerous choices of international select wines.
The Pig Restaurant is open for lunch from Mon – Sat for lunch from noon until 2:30pm, and for dinner on Sundays from 7pm – 10 pm. Booking well in advance is advised.
