Rumi Restaurant

Style: Vibrant Fine Dining Middle Eastern Feast

Rumi RestaurantRumi, a vibrant Middle Eastern eatery that recently relocated on upper Lygon St. in Melbourne is a fantastic restaurant that offers more than just delicious Lebanese, Persian, and other Moorish Middle Eastern specialties.

The ambiance here is superb and although the restaurant decor itself does not scream Middle Eastern, the adornments that owners Natalie and Joseph Abboud used in decorating the restaurant are authentic Levantine pieces.

It is a great place to enjoy good company while sharing a family style hearty meal. Everything they offer will surely please the palate but stars on the menu include the quail kebab, spiced lamb shoulder, haloumi and feta filled pastry (sigara boregi), and their house cured beef bastourma. They also have flavourful gluten free and vegetarian options. Local, Lebanese, and other Middle-Eastern Wines, beers, and various Araks (distilled spirits) make up the drink list. Food legend Anthony Bourdain himself has sung praises about the food he sampled here and featured on his television show.
