Stockholm

Stockholm or "Venice of the North" is situated on 14 islands and is the most fascinating Scandinavian city. The capital is the official residence of the Swedish monarch and one of the world's cleanest cities. During Summer season the city is packed with festivals and activities like the annual Midsommar Festival (Friday and Saturday between 19.June and 26.June). "Venice" invites you to enjoy life for the "sunny four months" with swimming, sailing trips and walking-tours. Stockholm hosts two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Royal Palace Drottningholm and the Skogskyrkogarden (The Woodland Cemetery). The city boosts an impressive cultural scene with over 100 museums, historic theatres like the "Nationalmuseum", the "Museum of Modern Art" and the well known "Royal Dramatic Theatre" which produced famous actors like Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergmann and Gustaf Molander. Last but not least not to forget the annual Nobel prize ceremony which is held in Stockholm every year December 10th. And...we just can't not mention it: Abba
