Hamburg

Hamburg is the materialistic, maritime and media pinnacle/crown/meridian of Germany. One of the most famous areas, St.Pauli district, is not only the heart of this neon nightlife scene, but also a favourite haunt for tourists, for none other than its sexcapades. In recent times, the waterfront sexopolis and the infamous Reeperbahn have been cleaned up and banked into trendy bars and lounges. Ahoy mate! But there are other things to explore in Hamburg: Take a boat ride around the Alster lake, go on a shopping tour at the scenic Schanzenviertel or in the main shopping street Mönckebergstraße or visit grand church St. Michaelis or the old warehouse district (Speicherstadt). If you're happy to spend a Sunday in the city a must do is the Altona fish market where you will also meet all late-night partiers.
