Balthazar Bistro, owned by Keith Mc Nally opened in NYC in the spring of 1997, has recently opened a replica of the famed eatery in London’s Convent Garden Theatre Museum. The Beckhams are said to be amongst some of the celebrity fans so get ready to rub shoulders with famous people. The beutiful diner with antique mirrors, mosaic floors, and plush leather red banquettes has 120 seats but it is always fully booked so make sure to secure a booking weeks in advance. They are open throughout the week from 7 am until midnight (until 1 am on weekends) for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and brunch on weekends.
Balthazar’s famous Chef, Robert Reid, offers trans-Atlantic French favourites with his own modern twist with signature dishes like caramelized onion soup served with a thick slice freshly made country bread baked in their own next door boulangerie (bakery), duck shepherd’s pie, dauphinois, moules frites, wagyu beef burger, and truffled lobster risotto. The wine list is impressive and the service is superb.
The restaurants busiest days are thursday through Saturday, for Business lunches & Saturday and Sunday for brunch.
