HUA HIN - the best insider tips for vacation, holiday & travel
Hua Hin used to be a small fishing village and the piers where the fishermen tied their boats up are still in evidence but they are now home to some of the best fish and seafood restaurants in the area. Hua Hin’s destiny changed in 1922 when the King of Thailand came to visit and decided to build a summer residence for himself. The modern Thai royal family still visit the Hua Hin palace regularly and although the area can no longer be considered a fishing village, it has remained a laid back resort and golf mecca that is hugely popular with both Thai’s and international travellers.
Hua Hin is not a backpacker destination or a party town; it has no girlie bars or late night discos and is more popular with older people.
