This is the ultimate UDON lovers place to be. This small and casual place for Japanese noodles smack in the middle of upcoming Soho. This restaurant is a real treasure for a light meal or a quick lunch in a group. They don't take bookings and prepare to queue. Koya serves a variety of peripheral dishes, tempura, Udon and miso soup. There are three basic types of dish: hiya-atsu, cold udon served with hot broth to dip in; atsu-atsu, or hot udon in hot broth; hiya-hiya, cold udon served with a cold sauce to dip in. Broadly speaking, the cold are for summer, the hot dishes are for winter.
Opposite you will find "Ceviche" an other restaurant concept similar to Koya, small, casual, serving authentic food and always crowded but serving peruvian cheviches, a dish of raw seafood marinated in a citrus sauce. ( http://ceviche.com/).
