Cervejaria Ramiro is a super energetic place where both locals and visitors come to enjoy great food, down a few pints of beer, and have a great time. It is not an ordinary beerhouse because they serve arguably the best seafood specialties for a very affordable price. The cervejaria started out as a plain beerhouse serving snacks since 1956 then turned into a specialty seafood shack later on. The place is almost always jam packed so best make reservations at least 2 days in advance if you do not want into wait in the long queue.
Camarao a Guilho or garlic shrimp, prego or carne lombo steak sandwich, grilled steaks, crayfish, spider crab, and grilled octopus are crowd favourites. Their lemon ice-cream sorbet is the perfect drink to cool down with on very hot days. Apart from special beers, they also offer a good selection of Portuguese wines.

Get your protein fix at Cervejaria Ramiro on Tue-Sun from noon until after midnight.

WorldTop7 Insider Tip: the restaurant is a must while in Lisbon but closed on Monday! Take a taxi or the green Metro  line stop 'Intendente'.

Restaurant Belcanto in the old romantic Chiado district has been around since 1958 but it wasn’t until the year 2011 when Portuguese rockstar chef Jose Avillez became the owner and gave the restaurant a new identity. The former gentleman’s club is now a chic fine dining eatery because of the wonderful efforts of architect Ana Anahory and interior decorator Felipa Almeida who made the most of the leather seats and wood panelings to create a sophisticated space. One wall lined with bookshelves cleverly spell out a Fernando Pessoa poem verse (the poet lived in this area).

The playful menu tells stories of how Portuguese cuisine evolved and developed. Diners will surely be taking snapshots of the spectacular artworks on plates. Dishes like Lombo de Bacalhau (loin of codfish), Cordeiro de leite (milk-fed lamb), succulent suckling pig, sea bass with seaweed are packed with bold flavours that will make taste buds rejoice.

Belcanto is open for lunch (12:30pm – 3pm) and dinner (7:30pm – 11pm) from Tuesday through Saturday. Reservations are required.
