Leave pretension at the door is the motto here. It is everything you like about the  L.A. food truck movement : loud , bustling and communal tables. A place to let your guard down and get your hands dirty. Walking in you'll be greeted and sat down in the communal mess hall, which allows you to make friends with others at your table, and  believe me, you'll be eying their furikake-laced popcorn, crispy beer-can chicken, and messy whole fried lobster. Bartenders here make the best mixed drinks, they have a great selection of liquors, enough to help loosen you up for the night. This isn't the place for stuffy people, this is where you come to let loose, have some fun, and meet other awesome people like yourself! One of the best things about the place, is taking your sweetheart to a table out on the patio around the bonfire, for a cuddle and some great food. You won't need a reservation here, just come as you are and have a great night with friends. Lunch is served on Saturday and Sunday only from 12pm-3pm,  and dinner starts at 5pm every day.

Walking into Craig's for dinner you are first struck by the wonderful smell of all the wonderfully crafted dishes awaiting you. Then you'll begin to take in the restaurant's stunning decor. The design is a balance of classic elegance and modern simplicity. Carved wood and exposed brick walls add a touch of rustic charm to this otherwise very high end atmosphere. The staff are all incredibly friendly and accommodating,  your waiter will take great care of you, never having to wait on a refill, but yet never felt like they are breathing down your neck. Looking at the amazing menu it's hard to pick what sounds best. You really can't go wrong with anything they offer. The appetizer Meatballs are seriously the best you'll find. Meldman's Honey Truffle Chicken  is a great choice, it's fried chicken that's tossed in a truffle infused honey, served with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. A cool thing to know is that Craig's offers several Vegan options like stuffed peppers and lentil loaf. Open daily at 5pm, reservations needed in order to secure a table.

Crossroads Kitchen, a stylish and sophisticated purely vegan restaurant, is but a newcomer in the Los Angeles restaurant scene opening in March 2013 but it has certainly made its mark. Lauded chef Tal Ronen who used to be a private chef for the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Ellen de Generes, offers haute seasonal vegetarian fare, sumptuous desserts prepared by Serafina Magnussen (pastry chef),  and the bar is under the supervision of Jeremy Lake who serves delicious organic cocktails. Make sure to try the artichoke oysters and the wood oven baked meaty lasagna.

The ambiance here is sophisticated and sultry so it is ideal for weekend date nights or intimate gatherings as they have two gorgeous private dining areas – a wine room with a retractable roof, and the antique mirrored room. Expect to spot celebrities (James Caan and Warren Beatty was spotted here recently) and dress is smart casual attire.

Ultra trendy INK is one of the hottest places in town, showcasing exciting and new interpretations of American cuisine. Alan Richman at GQ just named INK as the “Best New Restaurant in America”! The décor here is modern, trendy, and high end chic, lending to a cool, hipster atmosphere. The menu is really an eclectic mix, showing all the diversity you'd expect from American cuisine. This is a great place to try new foods, be a little adventurous and try some cuttlefish, octopus, or beef tartare. The main dishes are delectable, but remember to leave room for dessert. They specialize in pastries, a big hit is the apple, caramel, and walnut served with burnt wood ice cream. If you are in the area and wanting to find that cool place that all the locals hang and where you're likely to see someone famous, then head to INK. Opens daily at 6pm. With as popular as this place is, you won't get in without a reservation, so make one, and make it plenty ahead of time to ensure you can dine on the day you want. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, keep in mind that just because this is Cali, doesn't mean it doesn't get cool at nights, so you might want to bring a light sweater. They do turn on heaters outside after 8pm. They specialize in amazingly original and classic pizzas, like Zucchini Flower pizza. You would be smart to start out with their cheese plate appetizer. Another great appetizer is the Pork Belly Polenta, it will completely melt in your mouth. If after your meal you have room to share a dessert, try the Butterscotch Pot De crème, salted caramel and crème fraiche!

The takeway counter next door is very popular for a quick bit!

Since being founded in 1999, in Scottsdale, Mastros has been described as a top 10 steakhouse in the U.S. By Gayot, and Los Angeles Times said that Mastros was a “high end” steakhouse. With their constant striving for excellence in ambiance, service, and food, it's no wonder Los Angeles Daily News calls them “masterful.” If you are looking for that perfect place to go for your next special occasion, then look no farther than Mastros. Just read their menu and try not to drool! I especially love the Jumbo Lump Crab Stuffed Mushrooms appetizer, so sweet and buttery. My husband is a BIG steak guy, and he swears by the Porterhouse, it's thick, juicy, and it's always cooked to perfection. If you're wanting to go the extra mile, look at reserving a private dinning room, they can accommodate 2-500 people, and every room in this restaurant is simply stunning. You will want to make reservations well in advance for this place though, especially if you want a specific date.

But if you go to Maestro’s, enjoy the food on their extremely hot plates, get a table upstairs and as a woman you MUST go to the restroom because you will never look at another restroom where you do your business the same again.

The Polo Lounge at the iconic Beverly Hills hotel loved my A-listers like John Mayer, Jennifer Aniston or Lindsay Lohan doesn’t only offer scrumptious international fare but also top notch service and the old Hollywood charming ambiance. Live jazz on piano serenades diners daily in the evenings and during Sunday brunch. Lobster ravioli, spicey seafood stew, and kobe burger are dinner menu superstars. You aren't going to find your run of the mill sushi here, this restaurant takes its name and inspiration a Japanese word meaning to trust me, or as they interpreted it, the entire menu here is the chef's choice. It's not about going in and ordering your every day California Roll, it's so much better than that. All you have to do is sit there and enjoy as the chef creates masterpiece and masterpiece for you. The menu for any given night is based on what fresh local ingredients Chef Nobi can get his hands on, and how they inspire him. Sasabune is a great concept for a fine dining experience. They make their own sauces, so be prepared for flavor profiles you won't have seen anywhere else.

This is the place to go when you are looking for a big night out. Yes it's expensive, but it truly is an experience of a lifetime. Never knowing what the Chef will prepare for you is a culinary adventure. Atmosphere here is cool and casual, not overly trendy, but don't be surprised if you see a celebrity at the table next to you. Lunch is Mon-Fri 12pm-2pm, and dinner is Mon-Sat 5:30pm-10pm. You MUST have reservations if you want to ensure yourself a seat.
