Maurepas Foods by Chef Michael Doyle is a bustling restaurant in the Bywater warehouse in New Orleans. The spacious bi-level eatery specializes in delectable and robust nouvelle American fare. The menu is divided into four sections – meat and fish, grain, starch, and vegetables. Innovative dishes like got tacos, lamb leg steak, grilled gulf fish, and stew of bacon, crowder and pea make up the seasonal menu. Their drinks mixed by chief intoxologist Brad Smith are also a hit because they aren’t just regular cocktails; they’re jazzed up with spice. The desserts are just as innovative. Try the cookies with millionaire juice (sugar, cream, bourbon, and spice).
The atmosphere at Maurepas Foods is lively especially in the day time, but it could get quite romantic in the evening when the dining and bar area are dimly lit.
