This Milan gem is a local favorite next to Porta Ticinese and a short walk from Piazza Duomo. The restaurant is composed of a large veranda on two levels, the large windows lining the walls are especially nice at night. It's the perfect setting for an intimate and romantic dinner. You'll be able to look out into the village square, where you'll admire the Basilica of San Lorenzo, and dine by candle light. The food is rustic & heavenly, everything is  delicious from  the Degustazione di salumi tipici emiliani, servita con gnocco fritto as a starter,  to Orecchiette di Altamura ai pomodori ramati, ruchetta e ricotta dura, Risotto al nero con ragù di seppie, pomodoro pachino e finocchietto, Tagliata di manzo piemontese al ginepro e rosmarino, Stracciatella di burrata di Andria con pomodorini a grappolo. Open every night from 07:30pm- 11pm  and Sunday for brunch 12pm-4pm

Located in a former brothel, this Roman osteria is one of the city's coziest places in which to linger on a winter evening, where you can stop and warm up with you partner and enjoy a lovely meal. This rustic, informal restaurant run by a young team is very popular with locals and is a great place to meet up with friends and unwind from a day of sight seeing. The cuisine here is typically Roman with simpler, cheaper meals available at lunchtime. The menu is short, ensuring fresh seasonal ingredients: favorite dishes include home-made pastas, like the classic spaghetti cacio e pepe (with crumbled, aged sheep's cheese and black pepper) and abbacchio (tender spring lamb). For smokers, there's a separate dining room at the back. The restaurant offers just two time slots for dinner per evening (8.30pm and 10.30pm); be sure to reserve, you won't get a table otherwise. Lunch is served Mon-Sat 12pm-2:30. Closed on Sundays.

Located in Brera, at Corso Como known for a vibrant Nightlife and high residential prices. A small and young Italian restaurant, run by Mimmo di Vivo and his family, where it is not unusual to find football players and TV stars. It is the ideal place for an informal evening in the heart of the boho-chic Brera district. This legendary palazzo di cucina is newly revamped and seems to be blowing up more than ever. Fantastic cream and tomato sauces echo fresh herbs and peppers on fresh pasta and gnocchi. Follow your meal with a glass of Sambuca or a Cuban in the Smoking Lounge. It is known to be a who’s who restaurant, so to find that you'll see a football player… we all know that the real celebrities in Milan are the models and the football players. Try their amazing swordfish Carpaccio followed by a finger licking spaghetti with lobster, all this with a great wine and company will make for the perfect evening. Pane e Acqua is a chic and trendy eatery that looks like a designer’s showroom. Owner Rossana Orlandi found a lovely spot near her shop in the residential Magenta district and commissioned architect Paolo Navone to create a dramatic place that would complement her snazzy eclectic décor and avant-garde furniture that came from her very own store. The vibe here is really relaxing and the vintage décor that is very pleasing to the eyes just make diners keep coming back for more.

The menu, just like the design and ambiance, is quite creative. Chef Francesco Passalacqua presents innovative dishes like anchovy stuffed tortelli, controversial rabbit and tuna salad, and dry aged pork with candied apples.

Pana e Acqua is open Mon-Sat from 10am until 11pm.

Pisacco is a fabulous fashionista haven bistro in Milan. It is the place to see and be seen since it opened in September 2012. The bi-level gastro pub comes from a collaboration of trendy and artful individuals (hence the misspelled restaurant name that refers to Picasso) that is why the eatery is filled with eye catching works of art and murals (even the restrooms have works of art). The restaurant part is on the lower ground floor that looks out to a pretty garden while the trendy bar area is on the upper level.

The simple yet scrumptious menu created by Chef Andrea Berton and skillfully carried out by Matteo Gelmini features tasty tapas style dishes like piatti piccolo, saffron risotto, beef tartare with herbed mayo, and veal ragout.

Pisacco is open daily from noon until 1 am (until 3:30 am on weekends).
