Namu Gaji San Francisco

Namu Gaji - review by Nicole Allmann

Style: Bustling Contemporary Korean American Eats

Address: 499 Dolores St. , San Francisco , CA
Area: Mission

Phone: +1 415 431 6268

Namu Gaji is an innovative and cozy restaurant owned by 3 Korean American brothers, the oldest of which is also the chef – Dennis Lee. They call their cuisine “New American Korean” and the menu features the freshest ingredients sourced from their own farm. The cozy and petite restaurant has modern décor, a long communal table, a few separate tables, and window bar seats that are great for watching people go by Dolores Park.

The lunch menu offers Asian style American street food like sliders, Korean fried chicken, and Korean tacos. Their gamja fries with teriyaki, kimchi relish, and short rib is a hit but is only served from lunchtime until happy hour. Their Korean style okonomiyake is also a must try. Raw platters and bo ssam large format meals are ideal for groups. Beers, wines, soju, and sake make up the impressive drink list.

Namu Gaji is open for lunch wed-Sun from 11:30 am ‘til 4 pm, happy hour Tue-Sun from 5 – 6:30 pm, and dinner Tue-Sun from 5 – 10 pm.
