Oistinis Barbados

Oistinis - review by Nicole Allmann

Style: Fantastic Fish Feast in Barbados

Address: Oistins Fishing Village , Barbados
Area: Oistins Bay

Price: BDS $30 - BDS $50 per person for full meal and a bottle of beer

Oistins, a modest fishing village, is one of the most visited hotspots in all of Barbardos of late. Locals and tourists flock to this down to earth town not only for the freshest grilled fish offerings, but also because of the joyful and lively weekend nights here. Friday nights are most exciting when the whole village seems to participate in the traditional fish fry festivities.

There are many sheds that offer assorted other Bajan favourites are also available like Creole seasoned grilled chicken and pork, lam stew, burgers, and macaroni pie. Make sure to try the seafood like sweet and juicy fresh lobster, mahi mahi, swordfish, tuna, squid cooked right before your eyes. There are also plenty of other craft shops along the stretch of the beach that sell jewelry, ceramics, pottery, straw hats and bags, and wood carvings. Lively reggae music is ever present in the background as soon as the sun sets; the partying goes on until late hours.
