The Hotel amenities include a swimming pool, fitness centre, business centre, spa, shopping arcade, and a beauty salon. Some of the most desirable restaurants in Mumbai are in the Taj Mahal and the food is wide ranging, imaginative and diverse.

  • 565 luxurious rooms, facing the Gateway of India

The views from the top floor restaurant are stunning

The pool area is only small which can be a problem when the weather is very hot

The breakfast buffet is outstanding and offered virtually everything

We love: Any good ol’ Bombayite will tell you that the Indian builders put the hotel up the wrong way, with its ‘back’ to the sea

WorldTop7 Insider-Tip:  this is THE most iconic hotel in India; visited by VVIP celebrities & politicans like US president Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, actor Tom Cruise, Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger , George Harrison, Madonna, Richard Gere, Gerard Butler Sharone Stone, US talk queen Ophra Winfrey, or Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt

The hotel is quite expensive, especially by Indian standards

The views of the Gateway of Indian and the sea shore are awesome
