The Grocery in Charleston South Carolina is a bustling contemporary restaurant offers modernizes southern fare in a lively setting that evokes the ambiance of a small town grocery shop. The jars of pickles on display and the wonderful scent of food wafting from the big firewood brick oven complete the rustic old shop feel.
Chef and owner Kevin Johnson features the freshest locally sourced seasonal ingredients in making his culinary creations. The menu is divided into a few classifications – snacks, bites, sides, plates and table dishes for sharing. Fried oysters, beef short ribs, and whole roasted fish are frequent diner favourites. Their drink list is just as impressive with delicious concoctions of cocktails, wines, and beers on tap.
