The Sangkum is a modern art-deco B&B hotel which pays tribute to the Sangkum Khmer architectural era. Italian expat owner Jim also who also owns Sugar Palm restaurant (with co owner chef Kethana Dunnet) lovingly restored the villa and filled it with retro furnishings, intricate antique tiles, and old Cambodian movie posters giving the hotel a cool vintage vibe. Most of the ground floor has an open plan where the reception, lounge bar, patio, garden, and the relaxing outdoor pool are interconnected. The swimming pool would tempt anybody to lay back and relax in one of the retro chairs under white umbrellas all day. All of the 12 rooms have minimal décor, modern lighting fixtures, and old pictures adorning the walls. Guests enjoy scrumptious breakfasts and tasty meals prepared by well trained cooks who underwent professional chef’s trainings. Bicycles and mopeds are available for hire should guests want to explore.
