The Tube boasts of two very important factors for a night clubs’ success: celebrity DJ names and dead central location. It’s a typical winter season club, often compared to some Berlin clubs for the minimalist straight line architecture rendered in concrete and wood with interesting lighting. The name comes from the tube-like long and narrow central area serving as the dance floor. The Tube operates since 2007 and each season they change some of the interior to optimize and enliven it. The premises once used to belong to the Red Cross charity, but later on Pero di Reda aka DJ Pepe, the co-owner and executive music editor decided its location and the 23 metre long and narrow room would make an interesting setting for up to 500 clubbers. You won’t have to pay an entrance fee, and you’ll mingle with the 25 plus crowd, Belgrade’s older clubbers who just can’t compromise with the quality of what they dance to. Therefore, on Thursdays live band performances or even fashion shows can be enjoyed. These nights are themed LIVE@The Tube. Drop by on Fridays if you prefer harder underground techno beats and check out the local celebrity DJs’ skills and talent. Now and then you will also listen to some of the international stars visiting. Saturdays are perfect for more or less commercial house, funk and disco remixes by another set of locally and regionally acclaimed DJ residents including DJ Pepe. Bar tenders are experienced professionals who serve quality cocktails. Make sure to book a table well in advance if you want one. This comes with a 50 euro price tag which includes some drinks. The Tube closes during summer and starts a new season each September.
