A huge part of the allure of Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach is its historical role of being one of the famous stops of many travelers on their way to London for the past few centuries. Recent owners Georgie and Sam Pearman refurbished the property and made it into a gastropub in 2011 then later added 14 guest rooms as an afterthought.

Today, the stylish inn set in the picturesque Northleach village still has its old world charm having antique furnishings but design features like black metro tiles, Sebastian Kruger artwork, Bang & Olufsen televisions, and ultra comfortable Hypnos beds has given it a push into the current century. The rustic restaurant is open throughout the day (starting with complimentary continental breakfast) serving regional cuisine featuring locally sourced produce and a daily changing menu.

There is a welcoming bar next to the dining room and even a back garden with picnic tables and sun loungers where plenty of locals get together for a pint of regional beers, cleverly cocktail mixes, Bellinis, and organic cider.

The hotel’s central Costwolds location is ideal for exploring the attractions of the region and they even have a petite spa by the garden so guests may enjoy soothing treatments after a taxing day of tours and activities.
