Yardbird on Bridges Street in Central Hong Kong owned by Lindsay Jang and Matt Abergel is more than just a yakitori place, it is a hip and stylish eatery that solely serves…yes you guessed it right…yardbirds – in this case, plain old but very innovatively prepared chicken.
The petite hangout spot has to levels but its almost always jam packed and does not take reservations so be sure to come early or be prepared to wait at the bar which serves fantastic concoctions and also skewered specialties like chicken heart, liver, and chicken oysters to name a few. The menu is categorized under small portions, yakitori, and big portions that feature all imaginable preparations of each and every part of a chicken. Must try items include meat ball-tare, fried cauliflower, popcorn gizzards, and chicken liver mousse served on toasted milk bread. Their drink list is also as innovative and they even have their own house name sake.
Head on up to Yardbird as early as 6 pm and enjoy cocktails and chicken like you never have before until it closes at midnight.
