Bayerischer Hof Munich
Bayerischer Hof Hotel Munich is an important historic landmark in Munich. As soon as you approach it, you will be awe-struck by the elaborate, restored façade with stone reliefs and cornicing. The overall style is traditional and elegant, the lobby and tea lounge were renovated, but rooms in some sections of the hotel are yet to be refurbished because they simply feel and smell old. What’s really getting old is charging Wi-Fi access, and very dearly so, while signal is not of good quality. Rooms vary in quality, standard single rooms have beds too small for most men and there are no in-room coffee and tea facilities which is strange for a 5-star hotel.
Bayerischer Hof Hotel Munich is a popular venue with some local celebrities like famous football players and managers, and cultural activities which attract non-residents include Jazz Summer in July when you can listen to jazz stars live. The most representative spot for drinks and fun is the beautiful and authentic baroque Hall of Mirrors which remained undamaged after the 1944 bombing when most of the property was destroyed. It is now known as Falk’s bar, a must visit place whilel in Munich.
