Farris Bad makes the most of the natural mineral water spring rich in healing nutrients for your well being. The commercial spa history dates back to the mid 19th century when the first spa was founded on this spring. Another spa centre followed a couple of decades later, attracting significant public figures like Ibsen. This helped a continent-wide promotion of this hot effervescent water delight. Only a century later, in 1990 did Ms. Treschow suggested constructing a hotel here. It was only after a long period of fighting for permission that it was finally built in 2009.
Curiously, Farris Bad is partially in water and partially on the land and it’s run by the main Scandinavian chain Choice Hotels Scandinavia. Activities available are numerous, from working out in the gym to meditation lessons, water sports and guided walking tours, not to mention attractions such as golf and fishing, especially for gentlemen. Kids will love the pool and whirlpools. The onsite restaurant offers eclectic menu in an informal atmosphere.
