Hotel White 1921
Hotel White 1921, formerly known as La Maison Blanche with the cult status bar, was bought off by new owners who renamed and refurbished it. The old spirit is gone, but there’s something new on offer to be time tested. As 2012 is its first year of operation under new management and this name, it should be given a chance to mature a little bit after the beginner’s mistakes, like rude staff at the legendary bar entrance. Just like La Maison, the bar is all-white with the outdoor area with parasols, more like daytime coffee lounge, but it opens only at 8pm. It looks casual yet intimate. The bar’s field of expertise is champagne stored in the cellar and available for tasting by the glass. For a special celebration order one of the super vintage bottles of Moët & Chandon dating back to 1921, the very year when the hotel was first opened.
Hotel White 1921, former La Maison Blanche features minimalist style bright white rooms with some ocloured accents in blue, violet and cream. Room number 2 on the ground floor opens to the backyard, while Junior Suite 5 has a lovely comfortably furnished terrace with a sundeck. Bathrooms are spotlessly clean and tiled in white. Duplex room 9 features a living area, so it’s perfect for small groups of friends or families.
