L’Auberge Carmel was built in 1929 as an apartment building for artists in the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The hotel maintains this Bohemian aura to this day, albeit with a highly luxurious twist. It is located 4 blocks away from the beach. A stroll to the village takes guests to various restaurants, shops and art galleries. The hotel was last renovated in 2004, turning the hotel into a luxury establishment that has only 20 guestrooms.
The hotel is the ideal romantic couples’ getaway. The rooms have been decorated to reflect warm tones, and emphasize on comfort and luxury with large mahogany beds, antique doorknobs and French windows. Private bathrooms offer heated flooring, some have deep-soak tubs for two. Flat-screen TV’s, an evening turndown service and complimentary freshly baked cookies, complete the room. In-room spa treatments are offered. Room service, valet parking and personalized services are offered for the guests. The L’Auberge Carmel has an intimate 12 table restaurant which hosts an amazing 4500 bottle wine cellar. Continental breakfast is included in the rate of each accommodation.
