Nearwater is a charming bed and breakfast set in a 1970s manor that offers an intimate and affordable stay ideal for couples on romantic getaways and lone travelers on serene sabbaticals. Hosts Tim and Amelia go the extra mile to make guests feel like they’re part of the family and even personally give tours to nearby attractions. There are only three rooms and a self catering annex, all done in New England traditional coastal style décor so guests are guaranteed an intimate and relaxing escape just three minutes away from the beach.
There are quiet and relaxing common spaces like the living room with a wide screen television and DVD player, the cozy sitting room with fireplace and interesting collection of books, plus the lush gardens and terrace. If you’re looking for adventure then go sailing or shrimping with Tim who happens to be a keen yachtsman who participates in boat races every Sunday morning.
Guests enjoy a hearty start to their day with a choice of full English breakfast, Spanish eggs, French toast, American style pancakes, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, or light options like homemade granola, yogurt, and fresh fruit. There is a newly refurbished Shaker style kitchen where guests may cook their own meals and there is always some milk, coffee, selection of different teas, and treats like biscuits or lemon shortbread any time of day. There is no bar on site but the local pubs are just a short stroll away
