The Pig in the Wall
The Pig in the Wall, just like other Lime Wood properties, is a foodie focused hotel that offers much more than hearty satisfying dining. Set within the medieval city walls in a historic 15th century Georgian townhouse designed by Judy Hutson, the hotel offers 12 individually decorated rooms that have antique original features like exposed beams, retro telephones, and Victorian fireplaces. The central location cannot be beaten; it is very near the harbour so it is the perfect temporary home for exploring the area either by car or by ferry.
The common spaces are very welcoming; the terrace with views of the harbour is a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee, while the lounge with an open fireplace, crockery display cabinet, mismatched furnishings, leather armchairs, and cross-stitched framed artwork all create a homey ambiance. Guests enjoy a buffet style breakfast served on a long marble bar topped with delicious choices.
There is also a deli with cozy pub-style ambiance serving salads, snacks, charcuterie, and wines by the glass. There is no room service but there is a generous larder and nespresso machines in the rooms so guests can have filling snacks anytime of the day.
