The Pig in Brockenhurst, Hampshire, is unlike any other hotel. It is actually a restaurant that has shabby chic accommodations with the intention of letting guests have a one of a kind experience of taking in what nature has to offer and to take part in the natural bounty by eating food that has been freshly foraged for the day. The usual hotel amenities like tennis courts, treatment rooms, DVD and book library, and bicycles for exploration are also available.
A large kitchen garden, fruit cages, smoke house, and meadow orchard adds to the bucolic charm. There are 26 cozy and rustic rooms where guests are sure to have blissful sleeps, lavish baths using Gilchrist & Soames products, and satisfied bellies munching on a generous larder of tasty and hearty snacks. Chef James Golding serves uncomplicated British fare featuring locally sourced ingredients (from within 25miles hence the food is listed under the “25 mile menu”).
The Green Room that can accommodate up to 14 guests may be used for private functions or small gatherings. There is an ornate carved wooden bar by the restaurant but guests may also have their tipple at the library or the cozy drawing room.
