Credits are given to author Thomas Mann for the popularity of this four-star resort hotel Waldhaus Davos. Visiting his sick wife Katia back then in the old Waldsanatorium, the place served as an inspiration while writing his novel “The Magic Mountain”. When the era of sanatorium ended in the early 50’s, the German von Gemmingen family has transformed the establishment into Waldhotel Davos in 1957.
Paying tribute to the author, a suite has been named after him – the luxurious Thomas Mann Suite is a top-floor corner-suite with spacious balcony offering breathtaking view, separate living and sleeping area, beautiful bathroom, and modern appliances. Taking lavishness a bit further is their famous Mann & Co. gourmet restaurant, known for its sumptuous cuisine and exciting wine menu.
While it has gone major refurbishment and extensive expansion for the past years, the luxury hotel has proudly made a name for itself as a golf/sport hotel in Switzerland.
