The restaurant is only open during suppertime but coming early to take a guided tour of their herb garden can be quite an experience. Wine connoisseurs would be pleased to know that diners at Griggeler Stuba are spoilt for drink choices because the hotel’s cellar offers no less than 1400 labels of international wines.

Style: Rustic Austrian Cuisine in Lech
Hûs Nr 8 just by the outskirts of Lech village of the famous Arlberg skiing region offers fabulous traditional Austrian fare and a very friendly rustic ambiance. The historic family run restaurant and Inn has been around for more than 3 centuries. Diners are often greeted by friendly hosts Christian and Erika Walch. The all wood alpine interiors with low ceilings are adorned with old photographs that tell the historic tales of the inn. They also have a kid’s play ground where the young ones can amuse themselves while parents enjoy leisurely luncheons.
Raclette and fondue are stars on the menu, especially for afternoon jause (snacks) or late lunches. There are traditional regional Austrian dishes offered on the menu like Kässspätzle, friend chicken schmackafte, fried duck, and numerous Walser traditional offerings. Kriegeralpe is a traditional Skihütten (mountain restaurant in Austrian) and part of the Burghotel having a very lively and cozy atmosphere. The Walser style cottage with alpine interiors looks like a hunting lodge with plenty of animal heads hanging on the walls. The traditional kiln in the middle of the dining room where they cook their specialty pancakes keeps the cottage warm and comfy.
The terrace is great for watching skiers pass by and enjoying the view on sunny days. If you’re out early then try their homemade organic yogurt, butter, milk, and cream cheese that come from their own dairy.
Try the deer sausage, Tyrolean grostl, and marmot stew (you’re lucky if it this is written on the chalk board menu for the day) are must try dishes. Other regional traditional dishes and Austrian regional wines complete the menu.

Petersboden Hotel Restaurant
Style: Rustic Mountain Restaurant With Lovely Terrace
The restaurant at Sporthotel Petersboden is a well known Skihütten (mountain restaurant) that has an upscale and romantic ambiance. Alpine booths and chairs, low ceiling, and wrought iron booth dividers give it a really rustic feel. The terrace, on the other hand, looks more modern, with light coloured Kartell sofas for comfortable lounging. The terrace gets real busy at lunchtime when regulars come for their turkey salad, pasta, and strudel. American, Asian and other international favourites are also available for lunch. Handcrafted coffees, hot cocoa, and fondue (has to be pre-ordered) are very much in demand in the afternoons.
The restaurant gets romantic at night time when guests feast on 4-/6-course international cuisine in the dimly lit dining room. Petersboden classic dishes like Oberlecher Käsknöpfle with salad and roasted onions, and spare ribs in barbecue sauce, and succulent steak options (Argentinean beef) are highly recommended. Their cellar is well stocked with international fine wines to choose from.

The Post Stuben restaurant at the historic Post Hotel in Lech village offers multi-awarded refined local regional fare and modern international cuisine. Just like the hotel itself, the restaurant interiors are very classy. Old photographs and hunting trophies hanging on the walls of the 18th century dining rooms add a warm and cozy touch.
The Moosbrugger family made an excellent decision in hiring Chef Michael Spirk whose version of classical dishes like Tafelspitz and Forelle Müllerin has earned the sophisticated restaurant two Gault Millau toques and a Michelin Star.
Discriminating palates of gourmands and royals (former Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands is an avid fan) will surely be pleased with fresh produce and bold flavours.

Style: Infamous Mountain Restaurant
Rud Alpe is a typical Austrian mountain restaurant (Skihütten in Austrian) in the Arlberg ski area at 1,560 m above sea level set in a large welcoming cottage dating back to 1750, about half a mile from Lech village.
There are several dining areas inside the warm bi-level cottage (maximum of 180 diners), and plenty of outdoor seating at the spacious terrace (can accommodate 190 more guests) that is a perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful mountain views while having lunch or afternoon après ski snacks. For a romantic dinner, book a table near the open hearth.
The menu features traditional Austrian regional dishes. Their Brettl snacks, Tyrolean grostl, succulent veal with dumplings, boiled beef with “polenta and rahmbohnen”, and gnocchi with prawns are must try menu offerings.
Celebrities frequent Rud Alpe. Jan Ulrich (German bicycle racer) got wed here and R&B German singer Xavier Naidoo has performed here. Festivals and events are also frequently held at the rustic cottage.

Schneggarei Restaurant near the Schlegelkpf Valley Station in Lech offers contemporary Austrian fare and international cuisine in a very relaxing ambiance. It is a more modern version of an Austrian Skihütten (mountain restaurant) but the atmosphere and the scenery here is just as authentic.
A crackling wood burning stone fireplace and an original wood-fired stove warms the interiors and fills the restaurant with a mouthwatering scent, especially when there is pizza cooking in the oven. Outdoor seating is also available on the terrace and there is a small sidewalk café where skiers passing by can order refreshments. There is also a bar that gets quite busy before and after suppertime.
The menu offers plenty of pizza flavours and international favourites. There is also a kids menu for the young ones. “Wienerschnitzel”, yellow-fin tuna steak, Walser style “kasespatzle”, schneggareiburger or vegetarian burger, and spaghetti Bolognese are some of the frequent diner favourites.
Seasonal opening: Schneggarei Restaurant is open daily from noon until 1am until end of April.
