Berners Tavern at the very glamorous Edition Hotel in London’s Fitzrovia offers a sleek, stylish, and atmospheric gathering place for entertaining and dining throughout the day. If you’re looking for an East London restaurant to savour southern Italian, sip fine wine, and enjoy great conversations then Rotorino Italian Restaurant on Kingsland Road in Dalston is a great choice. Owners Jonathan Downey (Diner Pop-up and Rotary Bar), Ruth Spivey (Street Vin Wine and Wine Car Boot), and chef Stevie Parle (Dock Kitchen in North Kensington) opened the restaurant in April 2014 and has created a very stylish and welcoming space that you would expect to see in SoHo.
The menu features wood grilled meats and fish, homemade pasta, and other Southern Italian classics like Sardinian burrida fish stew, panelle chickpea Sicilian fritters, spicy sausage ragu, and pistachio casarecce, hanger steak served with calabrian chili sauce, and sea bream carpaccio. Wine is taken seriously, there are more than 40 Italian and international wines (selected by Spivey of course) on the drink list.
Rotorino is open Mon – Fri from 6pm until late, and on weekends for lunch from noon until 3pm, and dinner from 6pm onwards. Booking a table days in advance is advised.
