Perched on a small outcrop above sprawling Verbier, this endearing mountain restaurant affords breathtaking views of the town-scape below, and allegedly has the best hot chocolate anywhere along the popular Les Ruinettes ski route. A regular snowmobile taxi shuttles visitors to and from the small mountainside diner, which boasts a steadily growing reputation for exquisite home-cooked food and superior hospitality.
Set in a forest-cloaked clearing on the popular blue run, Chez Dany is quintessentially Swiss in just about every imaginable way. Visitors are greeted by an authentic scene of exposed beams and a roaring log fire, enhanced by the delicious waft of slow-poached eggs and freshly baked bread. Their specialty is Croute au Fromage – a delicious combination of bread topped with Swiss cheese and ham, crowned by a fried egg. Mains include a good selection of traditional Swiss dishes; the Filet de Boeuf with Morel Mushrooms and Pork Ribs enhanced with oriental spices (particularly recommended.) La Table d’Adrien
Style: Verbier’s best Fine-Dining Restaurant
La Table d’Adrien at the Chalet Adrien Hotel (a Relais and Chateaux property) perched on top of Verbier by the Savoleyres lift offers fabulous French and Italian fare with amazing views of the Valais. The atmosphere here is relaxed and sophisticated and the rustic interior is beautiful, just like the beautifully presented food that looks like artworks on plates.
The menu features French and Italian classics plus Swiss favourites given a modern twist with dishes like truffled carpaccio st. Jacques, monkfish casserole, mushroom and fig stuffed quails, truffled ravioli, and Pugliese style lobster, turbot gratine with olives. Italian and French wines from different regions are also on offer.
La Table d’Adrien is open for dinner daily but they are closed during off peak seasons (mid Apr-Jul and mid Sept-Dec) so call ahead weeks in advance to inquire and to make reservations. Cooking courses are also available for those who want to learn how to recreate such mouth watering cuisine.

Style: Bustling James Blunt Piste-Side Pitstop
La Vache (The Cow in English) is a laid back cozy restaurant in Verbier perched on top of the James Blunt Chairlift of the Attelas. The bustling eatery perched more than 2,700 metres above the mountains is part owned by singer James Blunt in partnership with the Sarbach brothers and the Farinet team. The interiors are quite cozy accented with fur, antiques and of course – cow prints and pieces (even life sized wodden cows outdoors). There is also a lounge area with comfy couches where diners may sit back and relax before they speed down the slopes of Bagnes Station. Outdoor seating is also available.
The menu consists of soups, salads, pasta, burger, and 15 kinds of pizzas. The #9 The Blunt pizza with spicy beef, red chili peppers, red onions, and pepperoni toppings is of course a hit with the regulars.

Le Caveau in the centre of Verbier is a casual friendly place to enjoy great fondue and other Swiss traditional favourites. Owners Burjard and Jerome Alexander are almost always around to welcome diners with heartwarming smiles. The relaxed eatery is Bagnes Cheese haven having at least 100 round cheeses stored in their pantry at any given time. It is a place where the whole family can enjoy a hearty meal and they also offer a kid’s menu.
Apart from their every famous Cheese Fondue, Fondue Chinoise with succulent slices of meat dipped in broth and accompanied with rice or chips is a crowd pleaser but dishes like roast cockerel, foie gras and snails, and fresh seasonal vegetables and salad options are also a hit.

It may lack the chintz and authenticity of a roaring log fire, but this delightful cabin cafe overlooking Les Planards still has bucket loads of character. Proudly flying the national flag for well over a decade, husband-and-wife team Annick and Jean-Louis Margelisch have created a quaint, yet basic off-piste eatery known for great food, enchanting views and a distinctly affable welcome. Jean-Louis, a writer and sculptor when not overseeing operations, has transformed the cosy main room into a pseudo gallery. Quirky metal sculptures, adorn the walls and shelves, interspersed with watercolour paintings and various other nick-nacks for sale, crafted by local artisans.
Its situation on the sun-soaked South slopes overlooking Mont Blanc, coupled with a very reasonably priced menu has made Le Namasté a real hit with holidaying families. An unusual combination of smoked Valaisian “petit lard” bacon, potatoes, apple and raclette cheese, the Cholera Pie is a must! Distinctly pizza-like with a generous topping of bacon, cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, the simple Namasté Crust will more than make up for the lack of fast food options and is particularly ideal for kids. Set menus of curry, couscous or stew can also be arranged for groups of four or more people, while a more formal a la carte menu is also available after 5pm.

Le Rouge Restaurant and Club is a multifaceted classy dining and entertainment venue at the ritzy, glamorous, and celebrity studded Verbier mountain (and of course skiing) resort.
It is a place to see and be seen since they opened their doors in 2008. In the day time, it is a great spot for a delicious lunch or afternoon snacks (they have a deliciously tempting crepe bar from 3pm – 6pm) while enjoying the views from their spacious terrace that cleverly has a retractable cover so the fun times can continue regardless of the weather. It is also a fantastic après ski spot and easily accessible (guests can ski in and out) half way up to Savoleyres lift from Place Centrale.
At night, it is a delightful dining hotspot that has a dynamic La Luge Club up on the open deck. Live DJ entertainment starts from 3pm until midnight. They also have a wine cellar that can be hired for special occasions which can accommodate up to 20 guests
The other place that consistently attract the in crowds is the Pub Mont Fort located nearby at the bottom of the slopes along with a sun-drenched terrace.

Pub Mont Fort – Verbier’s answer to your friendly local, except it happens to be in one of the most arid and beautiful places on earth. Opened in 1977 beside the Gondola lift station, Pub Mont Fort sought to cater for the ever growing number of cool kids descending on Verbier, whilst maintaining a family-friendly appeal. Set across two floors within an expansive wooden chalet, its upbeat, casual atmosphere, big screen tv’s and wallet-friendly happy hour (4pm – 5pm every evening) makes it a welcome alternative to some of the dusty old bars in town.
The homely chalet restaurant (open from 4pm – 10pm every day) offers a diverse menu of contemporary cuisine ranging from classic snacks, such as Knee Deep Nachos served with Chili Con Carne, to a sublime grill offering a choice of distinctive homemade burgers. The 180 gram Mont Fort is a cult classic, topped with Bagnes and goats cheese, then drizzled in a delicious Parmesan sauce.
